In this workshop you will learn how to create a beautiful embroidered dragonfly. The completed picture will measure 23cm square and will fit neatly into an Ikea box ribba frame (not included).

This workshop will be delivered in two sessions of 3 hours each, one each week for two consecutive weeks.

This workshop will be delivered virtually via the online platform Zoom so you will need to make sure that you have a suitable device and a strong wifi, you do not need to have an account to join. The day before the workshop, you will be sent workshop joining instructions. There will be a limited number of participants so you will be able to interact with other participants and the tutor throughout.  This is such a great way to learn a new skill in the comfort of your own home. At the end of the session, you will be shown many examples of other projects you could try by yourself.

Prior to the workshop you will be sent a pack of materials which will include everything you need to stitch your piece- background fabric, embroidery threads and materials for applique, Please book in plenty of time for materials to be posted to you.

You choose your background colour– just add a note to your order form to request. and Julie will do her best to accommodate colour preferences.

For the workshop you will need basic sewing equipment and a transfer pen.

During the workshops, each stage will include several demonstrations. We will work on the embroidered dragonfly first, then the dandelion head then the cowslip flowers and the foliage at the base of the design. You will be shown many examples of different designs that you may like to try another time. You choose your design and layout and embroidered flowers.
