In this workshop you will be machine stitching on a dissolvable film to create a crown and tree trunk, which are then assembled and wired to make a 3D tree. You will Embellish a soft fabric base with merino wools and scrims and then add simple hand embroidery to represent flowers. The tree is then “planted” into the base which is then attached to an oasis sphere into the teacup.

Jane Fairweather received much acclaim for her trees in a teacup made to celebrate the tercentenary of Capability Brown’s birth for the joint Embroiderers’ Guild and National Trust exhibition in many National Trust properties in 2016.Her work has been featured in Be Creative with Workbox, Patchwork & Quilting, Embroidery magazines and in Cas Holmes’ latest book “Textile Landscapes”.
