Description

In this workshop you will learn the basics of machine embroidery and  and using my favourite applique method, create a 12 inch square panel full of quirky designs. You will learn how to : Set up your machine for easy trouble free stitching;  “draw” with the sewing machine; use bondaweb to apply applique shapes to the fabric; solve common problems. This is a shortened version of the 6 hour long face to face workshop.

This workshop will be delivered virtually via the online platform Zoom so you will need to make sure that you have a suitable device and a strong wifi with access to the computer or tablet/ipad or smart phone/iphone. It will be helpful if your machine and computer devise are in the same room.  You do not need to have an account to join. The day before the workshop, you will be sent workshop joining instructions. There will be a limited number of participants so you will be able to interact with other participants and the tutor throughout.  This is such a great way to learn a new skill in the comfort of your own home. At the end of the session, you will be shown many examples of other projects you could try by yourself.

For the workshop you will need: a suitable sewing machine which has a drop feed facility and is in good working order, good quality regular sewing cotton in a dark colour, a darning/ machine embroidery foot, scissors, a frixion pen (or other transfer pen), and an iron.

Prior to the workshop you will be sent a pack of materials and  preparation notes.  Please book in time for materials to be posted to you. Each stage of the workshop will have many demonstrations and we will work through the session one stage at a time. After the workshop you will be emailed the workshop notes.

Please note- your materials may not be exactly the same as shown and once you have received the kit, there will not be the option for a refund.

If your preferred workshop date is full, please contact me via the “Get in touch ”  form HERE to register your interest for future workshops.
